Test & Measurement

DesignCore Systems designs and builds custom automated test and measurement systems for product verification, process monitoring, and research applications. We work with clients to define test requirements, select instrumentation, design test fixtures, and develop the software that ties the system together.

Our test system capability spans electrical parametric testing, functional verification, environmental and endurance testing support, data acquisition, and signal analysis. We design custom test fixtures, interface boards, and probe assemblies to connect instruments to the unit under test. Test sequencing and reporting software is developed to match your workflow — from simple pass/fail to detailed data logging and traceability systems.

We support a range of instrument interfaces including RS485, USB, serial, GPIB, USB-TMC, and Ethernet, and we integrate with common platforms including NI-VISA, IO Libraries, and custom SCPI implementations. Test systems are documented for operator use and can be designed for deployment by non-technical operators on the production floor.

Scope & Limitations

Test and measurement systems are designed to customer specifications. DesignCore Systems does not provide NATA-accredited calibration services unless explicitly stated in the project scope.

Accuracy and precision guarantees are subject to the specifications of third-party sensors and instruments used in the test system. DesignCore Systems is not liable for the performance characteristics of third-party components.

Regulatory compliance testing (e.g., EMC, safety) must be performed by accredited laboratories. DesignCore Systems can design test systems to support compliance workflows but does not issue compliance certificates.

Help

Frequently Asked Questions

What industries do you build test systems for?
We have built test systems for clients in electronics manufacturing, defence, medical devices, industrial automation, and research and development. The underlying engineering skills — instrument control, fixture design, and test software — apply across industries. If your application involves measuring or verifying something, we can likely help regardless of industry vertical.
Do you use custom or off-the-shelf instrumentation?
We design test systems around the best instrument for the measurement task — which is usually a combination of both. Off-the-shelf instruments (DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal sources, power supplies, DAQ modules) are used where they meet the specification. Custom interface boards, switching matrices, and signal conditioning circuits are designed where standard instruments cannot reach the unit under test or where cost targets require a different approach.
Can you provide calibration services for delivered test systems?
DesignCore Systems does not hold NATA accreditation and does not provide accredited calibration services. For test systems requiring traceable calibration, we design systems around instruments that can be sent to NATA-accredited laboratories for periodic calibration. We can advise on calibration intervals and document the calibration requirements for the instruments used in your system.
